Gweta Bonus Special (6 days)


Day 1: Gweta Lodge

Arrive at Gweta lodge in the afternoon and relax by the pool in the comfort of our rustic bar area, then sit down to a 3 course dinner. Overnight at Gweta Lodge in roomed accommodation.

Day 2: Nxai pan

Wake up to breakfast then head for Nxai Pan and arrive there to set up mobile tented camp and have lunch. Take a drive down to the legendary seven baobabs made famous by painter and explorer Thomas Baines in 1862 and enjoy a beautiful sunset. Then meander back to camp where you will relax and enjoy good food and refreshing drinks around a comfortable fire.

Day 3: Nxai Pan

Your day starts with a beautiful sunrise and a light breakfast before departing on a morning game drive to the Nxai Pan watering hole where you have an opportunity to see a variety of game. Head back to camp where you will enjoy a light lunch and a chance to have a relaxing few hours break. Then head out on your late afternoon drive and experience the vast open wilderness with a breath-taking sunset. Return to camp for an evening of good conversation and dinner.

Day 4: Makgadikgadi

Be prepared for an early start with a light breakfast and leave for Nxai pan and make your way to the Makgadikgadi National Park where you will be stopping off for a picnic lunch overlooking the scenic Boteti River. Then we make our way across the National park to the historical Greene’s and Chapman’s Baobabs, a stone’s throw away from the Ntwetwe Pans where a magical experience awaits you under the stars.

Day 5: Ntwetwe Pan

Take in the morning sunrise with a warm cup of coffee and get to see the Meerkats of the Makgadikgadi. Take a scenic drive back to Gweta Lodge, upon arrival freshen up and take the time to sample some traditional dishes. A late afternoon drive to the majestic baobabs for a great photo opportunity before heading down for sunset drinks by an open water pan.

Day 6: Gweta Lodge

Upon waking up you take a guided tour around the local village of Gweta before heading back to Gweta Lodge where your breakfast awaits you.

Mababa Adventure Tour (5 days)


Day 1: Maun

Arrive in Maun where you will be met by your guide who we give you a quick briefing for your journey to camp.

Day 2: Khwai

This is a full day trip to the Scenic Khwai area where we will drive along the river systems – a great opportunity for seeing Giraffe, Elephant and a selection of Antelope. Stop off for a picnic lunch at a lagoon with a beautiful Leadwood forest and take the opportunity to rest and relax in one of the most stunning areas in Botswana. Carry on your game drive back towards camp giving you a further opportunity to witness some of the big 5 as well as other rare sightings of Africa and an abundance of bird life.

Day 3: Savuti

Leisurely drive up to Savuti which is part of the Chobe National Park, the first ever national park in Botswana where the wildlife sightings are particularly dynamic. The area covers almost 4 200mi2 (10 878km2) of northern Botswana. The Magwikhwe sand ridge and the desolate Savuti marsh at the end of the Savuti channel are all that remains of the once great lake that covered much of northern Botswana. The Savuti region is an exceptional area for bird watching. Among the diverse species are the Admin Stalk, Kori Bustards, Large Secretary Birds and many others.

Day 4: Mababe

Morning game drive into the Mababe area giving another opportunity to see a variety of game and a change in Terrain. The Khwai river also runs through Mababe attracting a lot of different types of game. Carry on your day with a cold lunch at camp and then enjoy the afternoon game drive with sunset drinks overlooking the Mababe depression.

Day 5: Maun

Wake up for your last African bush breakfast and start your return to Maun with your guides discussing everything you have seen and experienced on the way back, with a chance to ask any further questions you may have.

The Kubu Island Sunset/Sunrise (4 days)


Day 1: Gweta Lodge

Arrive at Gweta Lodge to meet the friendly local staff and enjoy your welcome drink by the pool. Sit down to a delicious homemade 3 course meal.

Day 2: Kubu Island

Before setting off from Gweta Lodge you will have a cooked full English breakfast and head out for your cultural village walk with one of the village elders. Return to the lodge, where your transportation to take you to Kubu Island awaits. At the half-way stop, a picnic lunch will be served. Upon arrival at Kubu Island, take the time to view this national monument consisting of fossil beaches, granite rocks and a selection of stunning baobab trees. Relax with a sunset drink among the ghostly baobabs before sleeping on bedrolls under the stars.

Day 3: Kubu Island

Open your eyes to a magical sunrise and enjoy the guided walk you will take around the famous Kubu Island with a light breakfast. Make your way back towards Gweta where you will make a stop at a Meerkat colony and take some photographs and embrace the natural surroundings. Back at the Lodge you will return to a peaceful and comfortable afternoon around the swimming pool.

Day 4: Gweta Lodge

Enjoy your final moments at Gweta Lodge with a continental breakfast before you carry on with the rest of your travels.
